Referencing field writings on energy research for future energy needs, there were but two basic toroidal designs, those being tokomak and stellarator power designs, both being variations of torus shapes.

Leveraging knowledge of fractal geometry a new, third type of such toroidal structure was identified. It is a fractal torus, recursively using torus coil shapes to generate larger scale torus structures. It is as such called a Fractallator® (patent pending).
